Evoke is one of Germany’s largest demoparties, attracting around 500 visitors annually. Established in 1997, it has been held regularly in and around Cologne, making it the country’s oldest ongoing demoparty. Organized by Digitale Kultur e.V., Evoke draws numerous international attendees and has received support from the Cultural Office of the City of Cologne in various years. Each edition often features a specific theme, influencing the event’s location, schedule, and program. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Evoke adapted by hosting virtual events like “novoque” in 2020 and “névoke” in 2021. The festival returned to in-person gatherings in 2022 at the Abenteuerhallen Kalk.
